The FinePix4700 Zoom’s Super CCD is brought to you by the people who have
consistently led the digital camera technology during the last decade. Its next-generation
image sensor deploys our latest imaging technology, raising digital camera performance to
new heights. No other camera can come close.
Instead of
conventional square photodiodes, the Super CCD uses octagonal ones and pix-els configured
in an interwoven pattern which dramatically increases the effective resolution. This
advanced design allows room for larger photodiodes and higher light-collecting efficiency.
What does that mean to your picture? Higher sensitivity, a much wider dynamic range for
improved signal-to-noise ratio and more lifelike color reproduction.
A New Standard
The FinePix4700 Zoom delivers an ultrahigh res-olution image file with 4.3 million pixels
in a 2,400 x 1,800 array using intelligent image pro-cessing. Its 1/1.7-inch Super CCD
with 2.4 mil-lion pixels is largely responsible for this high level of performance. And
with a new image processing algorithm tailored to the Super CCD, this digital camera
produces results comparable to conventional color prints.

ISO 800
Sensitivity
The FinePix4700 Zoom’s Super CCD pushes its ISO sensitivity up to 800. This gives you
added range to shoot where other digitals fail. Even in low light, you’ll be able to
capture a natural ambi-ence or keep shooting when a flash isn’t permit-ted. Increased
sensitivity also expands your abil-ity to record fast action. With its wider dynamic
range, the Super CCD captures images at 12 bits each for RGB and records them at an
opti-mal 8 bits depending on the scene. And its smooth reproduction of color gradations
allows for very fine details in shadows and highlights alike, ensuring fantastic results.
Super
Speed
The new LSI processor, developed specifically for the Super CCD’s interwoven pixels,
acceler-ates transmission speed dramatically so that the signal reaches the image
processor immediately. This allows the Super CCD to read far more visual information. And
because the image processor has been redesigned for high-speed handling* of images up to
2,400 ´ 1,800 pixels, those on the fast track will espe-cially appreciate the FinePix
4700 Zoom. (Start-up takes 2 sec. Pause between single-frame shots is less than 2 sec. In
Continuous Mode shooting, you can shoot every 0.2 sec.)

High Performance
Digitao Zooming
When you want to get up close, you’ll love how the Super CCD expands the
pos-sibilities with its digital zoom-ing range. Seamless digital zooming up to 3.75´ (in
0.2´ step) is easy in the 640 ´ 480 Pixel Mode*. This can be combined with optical 3´
zooming for a maximum magnification effect of 11.25´. Even at the zoom setting, the Super
EBC Fujinon 3´ aspherical zoom lens delivers everything you need and want — sharp
details, exceptional brightness and high contrast without lens flare. Developed
specifically for the FinePix4700 Zoom, it has six multi-coated lens elements, including an
aspherical lens, in six groups. The sensitivity of the large aperture F2.8 lens enables
you to work in low light without worrying about camera shake or at very high shutter
speeds. The optical 3´ zooming has the versatility of coverage equivalent to the
38–114 mm range of a 35 mm camera.
* Even in the 1,280 x 960 Pixel Mode digital zooming up to 1.88x is possible.

Video and Sound
Capabilities
You can capture video images for as long as 80 seconds at 10 frames/sec. with a resolution
of 320 x 240 pixels. And because sound can be recorded at the same time, the FinePix4700
Zoom is technology at its finest.
Intelligent
Control
The FinePix4700 Zoom has a newly designed, convenient dot-matrix LCD Monitor with
backlight in the center of Four-Direction Button, and can display various Mode icons. For
quick and easy selec-tion of the mode you want, use the Four-Direction Button in
com-bination with the Shift Button.
Here’s how it
works. Simply select the Auto Mode and the camera takes over! The intelligent Auto White
Balance adjusts immediately to the lighting and your subject. The high-precision Auto
Focus system ensures that focusing is sharp and accurate, while the Programmed Auto
Exposure measures light across 64 zones. And the Auto Bracketing Mode gives you extra
assur-ance. It automatically shoots the same scene three times within a range of ±1/3,
±2/3 or ±1 EV from normal exposure.
You also have the
freedom of full manual control, which is an important option when the lighting is
questionable or you want a signature effect. Whatever you want or need, the FinePix 4700
Zoom has it — center-weighted exposure, spot metering, exposure compensation, varied
white balance settings and adjustable flash inten-sity. And there’s even a Manual
Focus Mode!
Energy Efficient
All circuitry in the system has been thoroughly reviewed to create the most
energy-efficient camera possible. That’s why only two AA bat-teries are needed to
power the FinePix4700 Zoom. The camera comes with two Ni-MH batteries and a charger.
